Alton RFC is keen to encourage all volunteers to be suitably qualified and to assist in ensuring that all coaches, referees and volunteers are supported in gaining the necessary qualifications to ensure a great experience for all participants at the club.
The Executive Committee (EC) of Alton RFC believe that the best way to ensure that our club continues to thrive is to ensure all people that want to improve themselves should be able to do so and have agreed the following process for booking onto coaching/referee /First aid courses:
1. All course details will be posted on the club website when received from the local RFU coach development team.
2. Approval to attend the course and for Alton RFC to pay the fee should be sought via the appropriate team manager to the Director of Rugby (via email to coursebooking@altonrfc.club ).
3. Email confirmation giving approval (or not and reasons) will be sent to the Team manager.
4. Once approval is given the individual should book via the appropriate RFU/GMS link.
5. Course costs can be reclaimed via the Alton RFC Expenses form following attendance at the course. (this will be evidenced by the members GMS record).
Anyone that wants to book onto a paid course and doesn't want to be reimbursed by the club can do so directly through GMS without approval or can go through the above process and donate their expenses claim to the club and claim tax relief through the CASC system.
Any courses that are free of charge can be booked directly without authorisation and club records will be updated via the RFU GMS database.
